Shears for Cutting Sheet Metal

Shears are simple metal cutting machines most commonly utilizing a moving upper blade and fixed lower blade to cut sheet metal, they usually used for blanking operations. Powered shears are usually hydraulic or mechanically driven with mechanical shears noted for their full stroke speed and robust design. The best mechanical shears are expensive and have become rare due to their cost. Hydraulic shears have become more common and often have adjustable strokes and can be found at economical prices on the used market, even for later model designs. Some high-end shears feature power backgauges, sheet supports and stacker/conveyor systems. Elite Machinery Inc. often stocks top of the line shears.
